The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer who fatally shot a Colombian man in Maine this week is an Army veteran with a long history of mental health problems and alleged violent behaviour, according to several of his relatives, who questioned how he was allowed to serve in armed law enforcement. David Brouillette, 37, is accused by family members of years of abuse, threats and instability. His former wives, daughter and other relatives told the Associated Press (AP) and CBS News that they had repeatedly raised concerns about his mental health and suitability to carry firearms.
