Two days after a car allegedly rammed into a woman biker’s motorcycle in Gurugram, the accused remains at large and police have not added an attempt to murder charge in the case. Now biker Sia’s family has demanded tougher action.
Sia’s father Roshan has demanded that police add an attempt to murder charge against the accused, Kalyan Bainsla, saying the incident was not a mere accident but a deliberate act of violence. He also questioned why the accused remains out of reach of police nearly two days after the incident.
Speaking to reporters, Sia’s father Roshan said strict action was needed and warned that allowing the accused to escape accountability would only embolden “criminals” like him.
Dismissing Bainsla’s defence as “bogus”, he said the explanations being offered reflected his “bad upbringing” and insisted the case should be treated as both a hit-and-run and an attempt to murder. “If these sections are not added, we will even go to court,” he said.
Car Crashes Into Woman Biker
The demand comes as the viral road-rage case continues to draw nationwide attention. The incident occurred on Sunday when Sia was riding her Aprilia RS 457 with a group of bikers on Golf Course Road. She has alleged that a white sedan repeatedly followed the group, its occupants behaved aggressively, appeared intoxicated and tried to move dangerously close to her motorcycle before eventually hitting it. Videos shared online show the bike being struck and Sia falling onto the road. She escaped serious injury as she was wearing protective riding gear.
While Bainsla denied intentionally hitting her, Sia released another video, rebutting his version of events. She questioned his claim that he felt sorry for her and asked why he drove away instead of stopping to check on her condition after the collision.
Bainsla claimed the crash occurred while he was trying to manoeuvre around a group of riders. He also alleged that viral videos do not show the full sequence of events and accused the bikers of presenting only one side of the story. He stated that he rushed from the scene fearing an attack by the group of bikers.
Police have registered a case and formed multiple teams to trace Kalyan Bainsla, a gym owner who describes himself on social media as an international kabaddi player and rugby player. Reports said he has since gone off radar.
Meanwhile, at Bainsla’s village in Palwal, some neighbours defended him, saying he has represented India in sports and is unlikely to have harassed a woman. They also rejected allegations that he was intoxicated, claiming he maintains a strict athlete’s lifestyle.
However, Sia and her family continue to maintain that the collision was deliberate and that stronger charges are warranted.
