HYBE founder Bang Si-Hyuk is facing mounting legal scrutiny in South Korea as police prepare to refer his alleged investor deception case to prosecutors. The K-pop mogul is accused of misleading investors into selling their stakes in HYBE in 2019, shortly before the company went public. According to police, the alleged scheme enabled Bang and related parties to make nearly 200 billion won (around $145 million) in additional profits. The case, under investigation since December 2024, is now moving closer to the prosecution stage after police conducted a wider probe, including a raid on HYBE’s headquarters.
