The new Ferrari 296 GT Modificata is a track-only supercar that comes with a whopping 730hp of power from a 2.99-litre V6. It tips the scales at just 1,330kg in dry weight, and is developed particularly for non-competitive track use. What makes it special is that the supercar gets extensive upgrades over the standard 296, including revised aerodynamics, brakes and transmission. Revealed at Ferrari Racing Days in Budapest, the two-seater is reserved for customers enrolled in the marque’s Club Competizioni GT programme, continuing a lineage of extreme ‘Modificata’ specials that stretches back over five decades.
