Andhra University has released the counselling schedule for the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test 2026 (AP PGECET) for admission to MTech, MPharmacy, and PharmD programmes for the academic year 2026-27. The registration window shall remain open until September 21, 2026.

The admissions are being conducted to various government and private institutions based on candidates’ scores in GATE, GPAT, and AP PGECET 2026.

Interested candidates can register for the counselling from September 16 to September 21, 2026, through the official Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) website at apsche.ap.gov.in.

Important Dates for AP PGECET 2026 Counselling

According to the official counselling schedule, online verification of uploaded certificates at designated help-line centres will be conducted from September 17, 2026, to September 22, 2026.

Candidates can choose their web options between September 18 and September 21. Additionally, the university will provide candidates with an opportunity, which is the option-change facility, on September 25.

Those who have been allotted seats are required to complete the self-joining and report process within the given timeframe, September 30 and October 3, 2026. The classes for MTech, MPharmacy and PharmD programmes admitted through AP PGECET counselling 2026 will commence from September 30.

GATE, GPAT Candidates to Get First Preference

Candidates who have qualified in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) will be given first preference for admission to the relevant programmes.

Once the allotment to GATE and GPAT candidates is completed and seats continue to remain vacant, in such case, vacant seats will be offered to AP PGECET 2026 qualified candidates based on their merit ranks.

Candidates who are seeking admission to postgraduate (PG) engineering programmes should note that they must be Indian nationals and hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from an AICTE- or UGC-approved institution.

The minimum eligibility requirement is 50% marks in the qualifying degree, and 45 per cent is the minimum marks requirement for those who belong to reserved categories.

As per the counselling rules, 85% of seats in each course will be reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh, while the remaining 15% will be unreserved for eligible local and non-local candidates.

Candidates are further advised to complete registration, certificate verification and web-option entry within the given timeline to participate in the AP PGECET 2026 counselling process. For more information, regularly check the official website of the university.
