The AI cameras are designed to detect a wide range of offences, including mobile phone use while driving, riding without helmets or seat belts, overspeeding, dangerous overtaking, wrong-side driving, illegal parking, failure to yield to emergency vehicles, overloading of pillion riders, and the use of unauthorised registration plates — violations common among tourists renting two-wheelers and cars during their stay. Every challan issued will reportedly be accompanied by photographic or video evidence, giving motorists the ability to view the recorded violation.
