Xiaomi has launched its new budget smartphone — Redmi 17C 5G — in India. The Redmi phone comes with a 6.9-inch display, a 6,000mAh battery a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and more. It is available in Dark Night, Coffee Brew and Purple Dawn colour options
Redmi 17C 5G price in India starts at Rs 20,999 for the 4GB + 128GB variant, while the 6GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs 22,999. The smartphone will go on sale from 12 noon on October 7 through mi.com, Amazon.in and Xiaomi Retail.

The Redmi 17C 5G comes with a a 6.9-inch display with up to a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. Xiaomi has also added TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light, Flicker Free and Circadian Friendly viewing, which are designed to make the screen more comfortable for longer usage.
The phone also comes with IP64 dust and water resistance and Wet Touch Technology 2.0, which allows the display to respond even when the user’s fingers are wet, oily or soapy.
The smartphone packs a 6,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. Xiaomi says its smart charging engine is designed to improve charging efficiency and battery health over time.
According to the company, the battery can retain at least 80 per cent of its capacity after 1,000 full charge cycles based on its internal testing.
The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300*processor. It is available with up to 6GB of physical RAM and supports Memory Extension, taking the effective RAM to up to 12GB for smoother multitasking.
For photography, the Redmi 17C 5G has a 50MP AI rear camera with features such as Ultra HD, Portrait and Night modes. There is also an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone runs on HyperOS 3 and supports features including Xiaomi Interconnectivity, Call Sync and Shared Clipboard. It also gets Google Gemini and Circle to Search, subject to availability and device compatibility.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack and 200 per cent volume boost.
