India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) mop-up maintained strong momentum in September 2026, with gross collections rising 14.7 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2.04 lakh crore. The increase was driven by growth in both domestic transactions and GST collected on imports. The latest figures also showed a stronger rise in net GST revenue after refunds, while cumulative collections during the first six months of the financial year remained ahead of the corresponding period last year.
