In a chilling incident that left several areas shaken- quite literally- a massive explosion occurred at the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) oil refinery in Karnataka on Wednesday, September 30. As per ANI, the incident reportedly left eight persons injured, whereas the major blast happened due to a fire in the hydro sulphur treatment unit. One injured person, identified as Rajesh in the plant premises, was shifted to Srinivasa Hospital for treatment, who is now out of danger.
