The Houthis, who control most of Yemen’s populated areas including the capital Sanaa, said they had launched a wide-ranging operation deep inside Saudi territory. They said drones and missiles were used to target a Saudi airbase in Khamis Mushait, as well as facilities belonging to Saudi Arabia’s state oil company in nearby Abha, Najran near the Yemeni border and Jazan, a major Red Sea port city home to a large refinery and power plant.
