A 28-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death with an iron pipe in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar on Sunday. CCTV footage of the incident shows the attacker repeatedly hitting the victim on the head.
The incident took place in the Makronia area, where the accused allegedly attacked the man in public. The CCTV footage shows the suspect striking the victim 14 times in around 16 seconds.
The attack caused panic in the area, while some people nearby tried to stop the accused. Another young man eventually caught hold of the attacker and pulled him away from the victim. The suspect then fled from the spot.
Police reached the area after receiving information about the incident and rushed the seriously injured man to a hospital. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The deceased was identified as Ankit Patel, 28, a resident of Manas Nagar and son of Ramlal Patel.
Sagar SP Anurag Sujania said the victim and the suspect had an old dispute. “The matter is being investigated,” he said. Police have taken the CCTV footage as evidence and launched a search for the accused.
