'False, Ridiculous': Iran Rubbishes US Military's Claims Of 'Record' Traffic In Hormuz

A fresh war of words has erupted over the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran hitting back at a US military claim that more than 1 billion barrels of crude have moved through the strategic waterway under American-supported protection in recent months. US Central Command (CENTCOM) chief Admiral Brad Cooper said the volume of crude oil, cargo and liquefied natural gas moving through the strait over the past two weeks had reached its highest level in six months, with US forces supporting the safe transit of more than 2,000 commercial vessels.
