He added, “As actors, as artists, we do a lot of work, we do a lot of films, but not every film we do can claim to be something that is bigger than what we are. I genuinely do believe Daayra speaks about something that is much bigger than all of us. It is pertinent, it is relevant, it needs to be spoken about, and if, as an artist, you have an opportunity to use your craft, use your medium to start a conversation like Daayra does, then I think it’s also your responsibility to somehow try and lend yourself to it.”
