Oracle Layoffs: 21,000 Jobs Cut Amid Massive AI Spending, CFO Says ‘Do More With Less’ Isn’t The Solution

Oracle is pursuing an aggressive AI expansion even as it reduces headcount, showing the challenge of controlling costs while investing heavily in data centres and computing infrastructure. Oracle’s workforce declined by about 21,000 employees, or 13 per cent, in the fiscal year ended May 31, 2026, according to a recent company filing. The reduction comes as the technology major begins another round of layoffs.
