The rush of visitors has been massive. Within just seven days of opening the viewpoints to the public, the sanctuary saw close to 8,000 visitors, bringing in more than Rs 7 lakh in revenue for the Forest Department. To manage the crowds, the department has set rules, including entry passes cost Rs. 200 for adults and Rs. 50 for children, with visiting hours from 7 am to 4 pm daily. Also, private vehicles are not allowed beyond Munnar town, visitors must take KSRTC shuttle buses instead.
