BJP leader Rajendra Rathore has written to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Shashi Shekhar Vempati, seeking the removal of Shoorveer song from Mirzapur: The Movie. The politician objected to the placement of the song in the Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyenndu starrer. Originally sung by Rajasthani singer-rapper Rapperiya Baalam and dedicated to warrior king Maharana Pratap, the song comes during a violent scene in the film, which, according to Rathore, has hurt public sentiments.
