The proposal of an AI regulatory and standard body came from Google’s Chief Scientist Demis Hassabis. The CEOs of the mentioned firms raised concerns about the proposal, suggesting this would give a lot of power in the hands of three leading American AI labs, including Anthropic, Google’s DeepMind, and Anthropic.
