The issue of “ticketless passengers” crowding Indian Railways’ trains was yet again highlighted after a video showed passengers without tickets occupying the “1st AC” coach of a train in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The clip showed several men with their luggage standing outside the reserved cabins. Calling out the lack of punishment against such behavior and the increase in the number of such cases, a train passenger ranted about the same, along with sharing the said video on Reddit.
Further calling such passengers “freeloaders”, the Redditor also expressed shock over witnessing such a thing “even in 1st AC”. As per the passenger, it was the TTE himself who had allowed the “ticketless passengers” to board the train. The frustrated passenger further claimed that he had contacted the police, but no help arrived.
The video was quick to go viral, pulling many reactions. Most recalled their own stories, while others blamed the authorities for the same. A few also called it a result of “lack of civic sense” among Indians.
