Vandan’s triumph is even more noteworthy because the weekly event draws some of the best players in the world. But the young chess player took a similar strategy to the game as everyone else. Even though he was up against one of the best players in chess history, he continued to play with the white pieces, starting with his typical 1.e4. In the end, his composed strategy enabled him to defeat Carlsen in an unforgettable manner.
