Canada To Slap Retaliatory Tariffs on US Goods From Sept 8: 'They Asked Too Much, Offered Too Little'

Canada is set to hit back at the United States with dollar-for-dollar tariffs from September 8, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Saturday, escalating the trade war after Washington imposed 50 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods and last-ditch talks between the two countries collapsed. Carney said the retaliation would target steel, dairy, appliances, agricultural equipment, pulp and paper and electronics.
