Coming back to Batwara 1947, the film is based on Asghar Wajahat’s drama, Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai. The Sunny Deol starrer is set in Lahore against the backdrop of the 1947 partition of India and the division of Pakistan. It also features Ali Fazal, Karan Deol, Kanikka Kapur, Abhimanyu Singh, Khushi Hajare, Isha Sandhir, Khalid Siddiqui, Rukhsar Rehman and others in pivotal roles.
