Rather than worrying about how she looks on screen, Dia Mirza said she makes a conscious effort to focus on the performance itself. “I have always consciously made an effort to focus on the depth of the moment, the depth of the conversation, the truths in a line, and not so much on how I look,” the actor said. Dia also acknowledged that appearance remains an important part of filmmaking. Hair, makeup and costumes are carefully planned, and she does not dismiss the effort that goes into creating a character’s visual identity.
