Senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Singh, had urged the court that if the proceedings were not being closed, adverse observations made by the special judge while rejecting the closure reports should at least be expunged. The Supreme Court, however, decided to close the matter entirely.
