A pedestrian was killed after allegedly being hit by a bus in Patna’s Chhoti Pahadi area on Friday morning, triggering protests and violence at the spot. The incident took place on NH-30 when the man was reportedly crossing the road and was hit by a bus, police said.
Patna SDPO-1 Raj Kishore Singh stated, “A man crossing the road in Chhoti Pahadi area was hit by a bus, leading to his death. Angered by the incident, people torched the bus.”
Following the death, an angry crowd gathered at the spot and set the bus on fire. The situation later escalated, with several other vehicles, including three police vehicles and multiple motorcycles, also being set ablaze.

Traffic police station SHO Neeraj Thakur said the mob also vandalised a police post during the protest.
Police intervened and brought the situation under control. An FIR has been registered at the Traffic police station in connection with the incident, officials said.
According to the police, some members of the crowd also allegedly assaulted journalists who were covering the incident at the spot.Further details about the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the accident are awaited.
