Panic gripped an apartment complex in Bengaluru’s Anekal after a 40-year-old IT employee allegedly fired an air gun from his balcony for nearly 45 minutes while under the influence of alcohol.
The incident took place at Sipani Apartments near Bandapura. The accused, identified as Anurag Tiwari, is a native of Lucknow and had been living in a rented flat at the apartment complex for the past eight months. He works at a private IT company in Whitefield.
According to police, Tiwari allegedly came out onto his balcony after an argument over the phone and began firing multiple rounds from an air gun. The pellets reportedly damaged a parked car and the parking shed. Police said he also allegedly fired in the direction of security guards who rushed to the spot.
Following complaints from residents, Surya Nagar police reached the apartment complex and took the accused into custody. The air gun and pellets were seized from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
