Lord Shiva is compared to the immaculate whiteness of camphor. Camphor burns completely without leaving behind any residue, symbolising the dissolution of ego, impurities and all that no longer serves the soul. Its fragrance is also known to temporarily relieve congestion. Symbolically, one can interpret this as Lord Shiva’s divine consciousness awakening the crown chakra and clearing the inner congestion of the mind. Such congestion may manifest as stress, anxiety, doubts, fear, addictions, limiting beliefs or worldly attachments.
