Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga was first, while defending champion and Paris Olympics gold medalist Arshad Nadeem from Pakistan secured the 7th spot. Current world champion Keshorn Walcott finished 11th, while 2022 world championship gold medalist Anderson Peters finished second. However, there was a big surprise in store as 2014 gold medalist Julian Yego failed to qualify. The Kenyan, who has also won an Olympic silver medal and world championship gold, finished 13th.
