Ather Energy has begun rolling out its new Pothole+ feature to Gen 2 and newer electric scooters through an over-the-air (OTA) update. Eligible models include the Rizta, 450X, 450 Apex as well as other scooters running the latest Ather software. Instead of adding new hardware, Ather has introduced the feature through software. Pothole+ uses anonymised ride data collected from the company’s scooter network to warn riders about road sections where potholes have been repeatedly detected. The rollout has already started although not every eligible scooter owner will receive the update at the same time.
