Kartik Aaryan is currently on cloud nine after winning his first ever National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Chandu Champion (2024). For the unversed, Kartik jointly won the prestigious honour with Malayalam superstar Mammootty. Since it’s one of the precious moments of his life, the Pyaar Ka Punchnama star went to Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple with his mother to seek blessings from Lord Mahakal after winning his first National Award. For the unversed, Kartik Aaryan played the role of India’s first Paralympics gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar. He got into the skin of the character and received a lot of love for his performance in the Kabir Khan-directed film. Kartik also won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his role in Chandu Champion.
The film was released on June 14, 2024, in theatres. It became a moderate success at the box office. Chandu Champion also starred Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Aniruddh Dave, Shreyas Talpade, Hemangi Kavi, Bhagyashri Borse and others in key roles.
