Anupam Kher shares a warm bond with his late friend Satish Kaushik’s daughter, Vanshika. As she turned a year older today, the Shri Rambhoomi actor took to social media to pen a heartfelt note. Sharing happy throwback photos and videos, he extended sweet birthday wishes to the teenager. Calling her his own child, Kher said he had always looked upon Vanshika as his daughter and friend, even when Satish was alive. He added that some relationships are defined not by blood but by love, trust, and a sense of belonging.

On Wednesday, Anupam Kher wished late friend Satish Kaushik’s daughter, Vanshika, a happy birthday and prayed for her happiness, good health, a long life, and the strength to fulfil all her dreams. “You are my child. Even when Satish was with us, I always looked upon you as my daughter… and my friend. Some relationships are not defined by blood; they are defined by love, trust and belonging. Ours is one of them,” wrote the veteran actor.
The veteran actor also assured her that he would always be there to protect, support, encourage, and stand by her. He added, “And who knows… one day, many years from now, if you decide to get married, I may even have the privilege of performing your kanyadaan. That day is still far away, but the thought itself fills my heart with affection.”
Remembering his “bestest friend ever,” Kher said that he was sure Satish was smiling from above. He sent Vanshika his biggest hug and countless blessings on her special day.

Veteran actor, director, and writer Satish Kaushik passed away in March 2023 at the age of 66. He died after suffering a cardiac arrest in Gurugram. His sudden demise left the film industry and fans heartbroken.
Known for his impeccable comic timing and memorable performances, Kaushik became a beloved figure in Hindi cinema with films like Mr India, Saajan Chale Sasural, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Brick Lane, and Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. He was also admired for directing films such as Tere Naam, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, and Kaagaz.
Kher and Satish shared a decades-long friendship and often spoke about their close bond. Their friendship began during their struggling days at the National School of Drama. After the Ram Lakhan actor’s death, Kher has stood by his family.
