Before joining NASA’s astronaut corps in 2021, Menon built a distinguished career spanning medicine, aerospace and military service. He worked as a physician with the Himalayan Rescue Association, providing medical care to climbers in the Everest region, and later became a colonel in the US Space Force. He also previously served in the US Air Force, including deployment during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
