The video immediately went viral, drawing heavy backlash. Amid the public scrutiny, the Indian Railways finally responded to the incident, claiming that the party had made an “advance payment of Rs 3,08,580 for commercial booking”. As per the Railway Northern, the booking was done on IRCTC on July 08, while the ‘pooja’ took place on July 10, onboard a Saloon Car that was to be “attached to Train No 12926 Paschim Express”. The train was travelling from Delhi to Mumbai.
