Amid heavy downpour in Mumbai, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded an orange alert for the maximum city and the Palghar region for heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. This follows incessant rains in Mumbai last night, which led to waterlogging, disrupting traffic flow on roads. At this point, even students and their parents are wondering whether the state administration would announce school and college holidays, as reaching them with clogged roads seems like a daunting task.
