Pavel Durov Hits Out at India’s NEET Exam Telegram Ban: ‘Leaks Moved to Other Apps’

After facing temporary restrictions in India amid the NEET examination controversy, Telegram founder Pavel Durov has publicly criticised the Indian government’s decision, arguing that the move affected millions of ordinary users without solving the underlying issue. Speaking about the temporary ban, Durov said the restrictions ended up “punished” more than 150 million users in India while doing little to stop the spread of leaked content. “The ban has not stopped anything and the leaks simply moved to other apps,” Durov posted on X.
