According to the FIR, Bhavani’s father, Srinivasa, received a call from his wife on Saturday morning informing him that their daughter had shared a photograph of herself with a man on WhatsApp. When the family tried to contact Bhavani, her phone was switched off. Concerned, Srinivasa called Chandrashekhar, a man known to Bhavani. Police said the accused initially did not answer the call.
