The newly formed West Bengal government led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is expected to announce the allocation of ministerial portfolios shortly, with discussions on key departments nearing completion. Sources have told Times Now that Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is likely to retain crucial portfolios, including the Home Department, Power, and Land & Land Revenue.

Among the probable allocations, Swapan Dasgupta is expected to be given the Finance Ministry, while Tapas Roy may head the Commerce & Industries Department. Sharadwat Mukhopadhyay is likely to take charge of the Health Ministry, and Shankar Ghosh could be entrusted with Tourism.

Jagannath Chattopadhyay is expected to oversee Higher Education, while Dipak Barman may be assigned School Education and MSME. Arjun Singh is likely to handle the Transport and Labour portfolios.

Dudh Kumar Mondal is expected to be given charge of Agriculture, while Purnima Chakraborty may head the Information and Cultural Affairs (I&CA) Department. Indranil Khan is likely to be assigned the Ayush Ministry, and Manoj Oraon could take charge of Forest and Environment.

Earlier this month, 35 ministers were sworn into the Council of Ministers on Monday, taking the total strength of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s cabinet to 40. With the induction of the new ministers, the Adhikari-led government has completed the formation of its full cabinet following the BJP’s historic victory in the 2026 Assembly elections.

The newly constituted ministry includes a mix of experienced leaders, first-time ministers and regional representatives from across the state.
