In 2006, Ochoa participated in his first World Cup as a member of Mexico’s team in Germany. Despite not participating in that competition, he went on to become the nation’s top goalkeeper in the years that followed and made appearances at the 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, and 2026 editions. His big-stage efforts, especially against Brazil in 2014, brought him international acclaim and solidified his status as one of the best goalkeepers of his generation.
