Republicans are showing growing frustration with President Donald Trump’s handling of the economy, but they continue to largely stand by him as the war with Iran drags on, according to a new AP-NORC poll. About 6 in 10 Republicans approve of how Trump is managing the economy. That’s down from nearly 8 in 10 in February, before the conflict with Iran began. Trump’s overall approval rating stands at 37%, a slight increase from 33% in April. However, he remains deeply unpopular outside his base. Nearly all Democrats disapprove of his performance, along with about 7 in 10 independents.
