Rishikanta Singh delivered a record-breaking performance to clinch India’s first silver medal in the men’s 60kg category at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026. The weightlifter created a CWG record by lifting 121kg in the snatch event. Malaysia’s Aniq Kasdan also lifted 121kg in the snatch. Both weightlifters lifted 116kg in the first attempt, followed by 119kg in the second attempt. They lifted 121kg in the final event to create history. Rishikanta lifted 143kg in his first attempt of clean and jerk, while Kasdan lifted 145 kg. Kasdan followed up with lifts of 149kg and 152 kg.
