As if extreme heat was not enough, Europe is now also dealing with wildfires severe enough that countries are resorting to national emergency. As per Reuters, for the first time, Spain declared a national emergency in the country over wildfires on Friday, July 24, whereas France has asked for help from the European Union to tackle a massive fire burning on the Atlantic coast. Reportedly, tens of thousands have been forced to evacuate across Europe. The French authorities were also compelled to order a total evacuation at one of the most hailed tourism spots, the Cap Ferret peninsula, resulting in some 40,000 people being evacuated from the area through boats.
