Protests were also reported from several districts, including Aligarh, Jhansi, Jaunpur, Barabanki and Chandauli, where workers of both parties raised slogans against the BJP government and demanding the release of Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and other detained opposition leaders, and sought the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
