The Hindu calendar dictates that the day after the commencement of the Ganesh Chaturthi stretch, be observed as Rishi Panchami. Seeing as Ganpati Bappa’s idols were unveiled the country over today, September 14, Rishi Panchami 2026, will be observed tomorrow, Tuesday, September 15. As the name suggests, the day honours the Saptarshi, or the seven great sages – namely, Kashyapa, Atri, Bharadvaja, Vishvamitra, Gautama, Jamadagni and Vashistha.
