The Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, has released the final prospectus for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) 2026 counselling. Eligible candidates can submit the online HP NEET 2026 counselling application form before the deadline, August 17.

The HP NEET UG counselling is being conducted by AMRU on behalf of the Himachal Pradesh government for admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses in government and private medical and dental institutes. Candidates should note that the admissions will be based on the candidates’ merit who have qualified NEET UG 2026.

Those who belong to the general, NRI, OBC, and other categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs 2,500. The candidates belonging to SC, ST, and EWS need to pay Rs 1,500, while those applying under PwBD are exempted from paying the application fee.

HP NEET Counselling 2026: MBBS and BDS Seat Matrix

Each of the six government medical colleges has a total of 120 MBBS seats. The seat distribution includes 15 per cent All-India Quota seats and 85 per cent State Quota seats. SLBS Government Medical College, Ner-Chowk, also has 36 seats under the ESI quota.

The H.P. Government Dental College and Hospital, Shimla, has 75 seats, while Himachal Dental College, Sunder Nagar, and Bhojia Dental College, Nalagarh, have 60 seats each. Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, Paonta Sahib, has 100 seats.

In the private dental colleges, Himachal Dental College, Sunder Nagar, and Bhojia Dental College, Nalagarh, have 30 seats each under management quota seats, while Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, Paonta Sahib, has 50 seats.

The total intake is stated as 150 seats, with 25% or 38 seats under the state quota and 75% or 112 seats under the management quota. For more information, candidates are advised to regularly check the AMRU website for any changes to the HP NEET 2026 counselling schedule.
