“The recent decision of the ICC to basically limit the number of Associate countries that can qualify for the World Cup, I feel was a step back for Associate cricket and world cricket to be honest. But at this stage, we aren’t playing any 50-over cricket. With our current ranking around 40, we need to increase that ranking. Hopefully, if we can push into the 30s and 20s, it can become more viable for us to play more 50-over cricket. But for now, we’re really focusing on T20 cricket, and the pathway that the ICC has set dictates that T20 is the format and the vehicle that they’re trying to grow the game through,” said Fleming.
