How the Flight Unfolded
The flight, Flydubai’s FZ1073, carried more than 170 passengers when it departed Dubai International Airport at 03:05 GMT, bound for Ben Gurion Airport in Israel. About two hours into the journey, flight tracking site Flightradar24 picked up the sudden 17,000 foot drop in altitude, and shortly after, the plane transmitted an emergency signal.
