Cholera deaths rose by 30% in 2025 and reached their highest level since 1999, according to a new report by the World Health Organization (WHO). As per the new report, in 2025, 47 countries reported 451,499 cholera cases and 7,870 deaths to the WHO. The agency said the real global burden is likely much higher, as many cases go unreported.
