First things first, Tomar had a shot at a bright future simply because his own father decided to go against his, and move out to Gwalior to build a better life for himself, and eventually, the family he would have. Now Tomar may not have grown up in Chambal, but he had his own set of hurdles to work through. For instance, shifting to a CBSE school in class 6 brought several rounds of adjustment for him, but he persevered nonetheless. His streak of impressive accolades began early when he made his way into IIT Ropar, without any coaching, on his lone merit. But the plot thickened further.
