Mumbai Police Cites HC Order
Denying permission to CJP for holding a protest at Shivaji Park, the Mumbai Police said it was “not empowered to grant permission for any gathering at Shivaji Park” in accordance with the Bombay High Court’s judgment in PIL 116/2009 dated January 4, 2013, and a subsequent Maharashtra government order dated January 20, 2016.
