The tools have not stopped there. He has built a companion app, KannadaVardhan, to help people newly arrived in Bengaluru pick up spoken Kannada, and a pocket-sized, voice-activated Gita device that works with no internet at all, made once with an e-ink screen and once with a touchscreen, with a third version reportedly in progress. For good measure, he has handwritten the whole of the Gita in eleven Indian scripts, and he has appeared on Doordarshan’s Sanskrit programme Vaartaavali, where he was interviewed with equal comfort in Sanskrit, Hindi and English.
