Delaney later moved into flight testing, graduating from the US Naval Test Pilot School in 2014. As a test pilot and project officer, he evaluated aircraft and weapon-system integrations, including developmental modifications to the KC-130J. He subsequently returned to the test pilot school as an instructor, working across aircraft including the T-6B and C-12C.
